This exquisite pair of ginger jars is a stunning example of traditional Chinese ceramic artistry. Standing at an impressive 10 inches (25cm) tall, each jar features a classic baluster shape adorned with intricate, hand-painted scenes. The vibrant Famille Rose (Fencai) palette brings to life the charming motif of children riding mythical Qilin (or lions) amidst lush trees, pavilions, and lotus flowers.
Symbolism & Cultural Significance:
In Chinese culture, the “Qilin Bringing Children” motif is a highly auspicious symbol, representing the wish for a happy family, successful offspring, and good luck. This makes the pair an incredibly thoughtful and unique Wedding Gift, Anniversary Gift, or Housewarming Gift.
Versatile & Statement-Making:
With a height of 25cm and a width of 11cm, these jars are substantial enough to serve as striking centerpieces. The matching lids make them functional Tea Caddies for storing loose leaves, or they can be used as Decorative Jars for holding keepsakes. Their timeless Chinoiserie aesthetic complements both modern and traditional interiors.
