Pair of Vintage Blue and White Shou Longevity Ginger Jars with Lid – 21cm

This blue-and-white ginger jar takes its cue from the traditional Chinese “melon jar”, scaled down into a compact tabletop size. The body is covered edge to edge in a hand-drawn lattice of “寿” (Shou) longevity characters, each rendered in bright cobalt blue and linked by thin curved lines that read like a delicate, never-ending chain of good wishes.

The glaze has a warm, creamy ivory cast rather than a stark pure white, echoing the soft body of vintage Chinese porcelain. The matching lid carries a thin blue line at its edge and a slender, off-white pointed knob that lifts off easily. Along the lid rim, a subtle brownish “rice-ear” tone adds an aged, collected look.
